Armenia: US Businessman on Trial for Exploitation of Minors

A United States citizen, philanthropist and business man is currently on trial in Armenia for the sexual abuse of underage boys from a town in Akhtala, Armenia. Serop-Gorion Der-Boghossian, 68, is awaiting trial in the Yerevan-Kentron Penitentiary Institution since his arrest in February. Der-Boghossian faces up to 15 years in prison.

Italy has most EU tax evaders

In Italy, over half of taxable revenue remains undeclared, meaning that it tops the list of European Union tax evaders, according to a poll by the Association of Italian Taxpayers.

Interpol issues pictures of suspected organ trafficker

Interpol yesterday issued photographs of Israeli national Moshe Harel, charged with human trafficking and organized crime in Kosovo.  The pictures have been released in the hope that citizens will help authorities find the fugitive.

Turkmenistan: Ten Sent to Jail for Bank Corruption

Turkmenistan’s Supreme Court convicted 10 senior employees of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan and gave each lengthy prison sentences for bribery on Friday. The former head of international operations at the bank, Byashim Begdzhanov, and three of the convicted men received 15 years in prison, the maximum sentence for financial crimes in Turkmenistan.

Czech police arrest pimping and trafficking group

After a one year investigation, Czech authorities have arrested eight people from Pardubice, in eastern Bohemia, and charged them with human trafficking and selling the sexual services of others.  Four of those apprehended have also been charged with robbery.

Romanian and Maldivian authorities arrested four men on Monday as a result of a two year joint investigation with the US into two overseas networks of narcotics dealers and their connections to terrorist organizations.

Family Members Of Accused Drug Boss Arrested

The wife and brother of businessman and suspected crime boss Safet Kalic were apprehended at their home in northeastern Montenegro, police announced on Thursday.  His wife Amina, 22, and brother Mersudin, 55, are suspected of helping him launder over seven million euros in drug money.

Missing Crime Reporter Found Dead in Mexico

Mexican Authorities found missing police reporter Yolanda Ordaz de la Cruz dead in the Gulf City of Veracruz on Tuesday. Ordaz worked at Notiver, Veracruz’s largest circulation newspaper which covers drug and security issues in the region.
