Andrija Draskovic allegedly took over the criminal organization of Zeljko “Arkan” Reznatovic, killed in Belgrade, Serbia, in 2000. Draskovic was sentenced in Serbia in 2011 to 9.5 years in prison for murder, and he is wanted by the Italian authorities for cigarette smuggling.
Serbian prosecutors believe that Luka Bojovic, an associate of Arkan and the alleged leader of the Zemun criminal clan from Belgrade, tried to kill Draskovic on suspicion that he killed Arkan. Bojovic was arrested in Valencia, Spain in February, and is still awaiting extradition to Serbia.
Arkan’s wife Svetlana “Ceca” Reznatovic, a Serbian singer, was convicted in Serbia for embezzlement and illegal weapons passion.
A pedestrian and the driver of a nearby car were injured in the explosion. Raicevic was injured in 2010 in a scuffle over parking.
