Corrections Policy

OCCRP is committed to transparency and accuracy in our work. If you believe any content published on OCCRP’s website contains an error, you can submit a request for correction through this contact form.  Please provide the following information:

  1. What is the error and where does it appear? Clearly describe the error you believe should be addressed, including a link to the URL of the page where the information appears on our site.

  2. Why should it be corrected? Provide a brief explanation of why the information should be corrected, along with relevant context or supporting documents.

  3. How can we get in touch with you? Include your name, email address, and other relevant contact details so we can reach you with questions or updates regarding your request.

Review Process

We carefully review all requests for correction to determine if an error has been made. During this process, we may reach out to you to request more information. OCCRP’s editor in chief will make the final decision on any request. We will decline to correct a story if we find that the information we have published is accurate, newsworthy, and in the public interest.

Decision and Response

If we determine that a story needs to be corrected or clarified, we will act promptly. If an error is confirmed, we will correct the article and add a formal note at the bottom explaining the change. If our original wording was accurate but unclear, we may clarify the text and add a note explaining that we have done so. In certain cases, we will add an editor’s note to the story to provide additional context.
