OCCRP Editor Deplores Revived Smear Campaign in Montenegro

News

Drew Sullivan, editor of the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), has issued the following statement in response to the renewed campaign of false vilification directed at the director of OCCRP's partner organization, MANS in Montenegro:

November 1, 2014

"The continued harassment of MANS director Vanja Calovic is both tawdry and juvenile.  We should all be clear that these media agents represent the nexus of organized crime and government that is ultimately responsible for this repeated harassment of civil society and independent media.  Montenegro continues to show it is not ready for EU membership.  To ultimately meet the spirit of its EU accession requirements, Milo Djukanovic should be permanently removed from politics in that country."
