Information trafficking equipment was found in April revealing criminal activity across China. In a statement, the ministry vowed to continue a harsh crackdown and instructed the public to avoid disclosing personal information.
Identity theft in China has increased from 2012, reported ZDNet. China implemented guidelines to protect customer data in February, instructing companies to ask permission for personal data from customers and to delete data after use. The guidelines, however, are not legally binding.
