For nearly a decade, OCCRP has used this award to call attention to the actions, policies, and crimes that help corruption and organized crime thrive globally. Person of the Year designates the person who has done the most in the previous year to promote corruption.
The 2021 winner will be announced on December 27 after a panel of judges with international expertise on corruption assesses a slate of candidates, examining court records, news investigations, and law enforcement reports. Whoever comes out on top will be in august company, joining the likes of Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil, Joseph Muscat of Malta, and perennial favorite Vladimir Putin of Russia. You can see all the previous winners here.
Use this form to submit your pick for the most corrupt person in the world in 2021, and check back in late December for the results.
