The Montenegro-based Dusko Jovanovic Foundation is appealing for applicants to its international investigative journalism award.

The Dusko Jovanovic Journalism Award, which boasts a prize fund of €20,000 for the winner and two runners-up, is bestowed once every four years for achievements in investigative journalism across print, TV and radio.

Those who have worked to expose truth in the public interest through methodical journalism are encouraged to apply.

The competition is open for works published in media in the period of May 27, 2011, to April 30, 2015. The winners will be announced on May 27 this year.

The Dusko Jovanovic foundation is named after the late founder and editor-in-chief of Montenegro's highest circulated daily newspaper, Dan. Jovanovic was shot dead in front of his office in the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica in 2004.
