The Ukrainian subsidiary OJSC ArcelorMittal Kryviy RIH received $18,770,412 from LCM Alliance, Hilux Services and Metastar Invest between 2012 and 2014. In the same period of time, its Kazakh subsidiary, ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, received $843,800 from LCM Alliance and Metastar.
ArcelorMittal is the world’s largest steelmaking corporation, formed in 2006 by the takeover and merger of Europe’s Arcelor by Mittal Steel, owned by the Indian multibillionaire Lakshi Mittal. Based in Luxembourg, it operates in 60 countries worldwide.
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR, the former Krivorizhstal) is one of the largest enterprises in the ferrous metallurgy industry in Ukraine. In addition to the metallurgical complex, it manages coking and mining industries. The assets controlled in Ukraine include the mining and smelting plant in Krivyy Rig, a limestone plant in Berislav in the Kherson region and a large cargo terminal n Mykolaiv.
The majority of exports of metal products go to North Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Gulf countries. In addition, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Armenia, the Republic of Belarus and other countries also import products made by ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih.
