Eleven people including four prison officials were arrested in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday on suspicion of drug trafficking, according to a government press release.
Six of the eleven people arrested were charged with the production and sale of drugs, four are prison guards and one served as a middleman.
The arrests were part of Operation Brava, conducted by the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and the Tuzla Canton Ministry of the Interior to collect evidence relating to “the abuse of official position and illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs.” The operation included the search of 18 properties in Tuzla, Lukavac and Živinice including six properties that belong to the Tuzla Correctional Facility.
Last night, two more people were arrested and half of a kilogram what is thought to be heroin was found in Lukavac.
