In an interview with Alo!, Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dačićrefuted a Serbian government intelligence file reported on by OCCRP and CINS that alleged ties between National Security Advisor Ivica Tončev and organized crime.
The OCCRP report quoted the intelligence file that said Dačićwas warned by American, Russian, and other European embassy officials of Tončev’s relationships with organized crime. The file said officials expressed their concern about Tončev holding such an important position. Dačićappointed Tončev to his staff anyway.
Dacic said he was not warned by embassies but would not elaborate further.
“If something was happening five years ago, why is it discussed now and not back then?” said Dačić.
