Border Force officers arrested  the pilot of a light aircraft at an airfield near Shelby, England on Nov. 17, seizing 34 kilos of cocaine and charging him with conspiring to import class A drugs into North Yorkshire.

The National Crime Agency (NCA), who is investigating the case, took 51-year-old Barlow resident Andrew Wright in for questioning. Wright appeared before Leeds Magistrates Court on Nov. 19, and awaits his Dec. 3 trial at the Leeds Crown Court.

As BBC News reports, Wright landed the aircraft at the Breighton Aerodrome. After examining it, the NCA found the drugs and arrested Wright. Mick Maloney from the NCA Border Policing Command said that the cocaine, further cut for distribution, has an estimated street value of US$ 7.8 million (£ 5 million).
