Position Overview

As a Product Management Intern, you will support the Product Manager for Data Platforms in managing and enhancing investigative tooling and data platforms that empower journalists, NGOs, and related users. Your work will include roadmap coordination, data management and documentation support, offering hands-on experience in product management for impactful tools in a mission-driven organization. This internship offers a 6-month opportunity to gain experience in product management fundamentals and explore the impact of investigative technology on social justice and transparency. The internship pays a monthly stipend, and academic credit can be provided if applicable.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & User Support:

  • Actively participate in product lifecycle activities, including research, planning, design, development, and testing.

  • Help track and update the product roadmap, coordinating timelines and communicating changes.

  • Support data collection on user engagement to identify areas for improvement.

Data Management:

  • Maintain and organize product data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.

  • Gather and input user feedback to assist with product insights and improvements.

Documentation & Training:

  • Assist with creating and updating training materials and documentation for users.

  • Help prepare materials for sessions, ensuring effective support resources.

Stakeholder & Developer Coordination:

  • Act as a liaison for internal stakeholders, fielding questions and gathering basic requirements.

  • Support the Product Manager by tracking development progress and coordinating with developers.

Person Description

  • Interest in product management and user experience design, with a focus on investigative and data-driven tools.

  • Self-starter attitude with an ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and remote environment.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong aptitude for data management and basic analysis, eager to learn and grow.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with project management tools like Jira or Confluence is a plus.
