Based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Eduardo Goulart joined OCCRP in 2021 as Brazil editor. Before joining OCCRP, Eduardo was an editor with Investigadora, a newsletter of the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (ABRAJI).
As a freelance reporter, he has investigated corruption and environmental destruction, revealing illegal mining on indigenous lands, illegal timber exports, and fraud in pandemic contracts. Eduardo’s work can be read in outlets such as The Intercept Brasil, Vice Brasil, Deutsche Welle Brasil, Mongabay, Chequeado, and InfoAmazonia.
He has also been an editorial coordinator for a COVID-19 health surveillance technology project with Data Privacy Brasil; a reporter for TV Brasil; and a trainer for ABRAJI, teaching open-source intelligence techniques to Brazilian journalists and students.
